Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how KeepSake (“KeepSake”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the KeepSake mobile application (the “App”) and related services.
We built KeepSake so that you can safely keep the photos and stories that matter most to your family. We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell your data, we do not use tracking across apps or websites, and we do not run third-party advertising inside the App.
1. Who we are
KeepSake is operated by Hussin Abuaisha. You can reach us at support@keepsake.ltd for any privacy-related question or request.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account information — when you sign in with Apple or with an email address, we receive your email address and, if you choose to share it, your name. This is used to create and secure your account.
- Photos you upload — any photos you choose to add to your KeepSake vault, along with any captions, dates, tags (e.g. people you tag in a photo), notes, and albums you create.
- Support communications — if you email us, we keep the contents of that correspondence so we can help you.
2.2 Information we generate
- Account identifier — a unique internal user ID used to link your data together inside our database.
- Purchase history — records of subscriptions, credit packs, and storage packs you have purchased, provided to us by Apple’s App Store.
- Restoration activity — a log of which of your photos you have sent for advanced restoration, used to track your remaining credits and surface your history.
- Diagnostic logs — minimal server logs (timestamps, request paths, error messages) used to keep the service running. These do not contain your photos.
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not read your device’s photo library beyond the specific photos you choose to import.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers.
- We do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, marketing SDKs, or advertising SDKs.
3. How we use your information
We use the information listed above only to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Store, display, restore, colorize, tag, and organize the photos you upload.
- Process payments and deliver the credits, storage, or subscription benefits you purchase.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Keep the service running reliably and secure it against abuse.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
4. Who we share your information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run KeepSake. They only process information on our behalf and only to the extent needed to deliver the App:
- Apple — for Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, and subscription management. Apple’s own privacy policy applies to that relationship.
- Supabase — provides our authentication, database, and encrypted file storage. Your photos and account data are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
- Google (Gemini API) — when you request an advanced restoration, enhancement, or colorization, the single photo you selected is sent to Google’s Gemini service for processing, and the result is returned to us and stored in your vault. Google acts as a processor for that specific request and, per their API terms, does not use your content to train their models.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes.
We may disclose your information if required by law (for example, a valid court order), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KeepSake, our users, or the public.
5. Where your data is stored
Your account data and photos are stored on servers operated by our hosting provider (Supabase). Depending on the region selected for your project, this is typically in the United States or the European Union. By using KeepSake you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal information for as long as you have an active KeepSake account. When you delete your account from inside the App, we permanently delete your profile, your photos (originals and restored versions), your albums, your tagged people, your memory notes, and your activity feed within a short operational window. Backups that include your data are overwritten on our standard backup rotation.
Some records may be retained for longer where required by law (for example, tax records related to purchases).
7. Your rights
You have the following rights over your personal information:
- Access and correction — you can view and edit your profile inside the App at any time.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings › Delete Account. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Export — if you would like a copy of your data, please email support@keepsake.ltd and we will provide it within a reasonable timeframe.
- Withdraw consent — you can stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
- Complain to a supervisory authority — if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Your photos are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited and logged.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, email support@keepsake.ltd immediately.
9. Children
KeepSake is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your country, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you inside the App or by email. Continued use of KeepSake after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
